Privacy & Terms
These terms apply to Seeclops and to all of its systems and services — including the Seeclops Mare (offshore marine) and Seeclops Terra (remote terrestrial) systems and the GMaaS — Global Monitoring as a Service — platform. Last updated 4 August 2026.
Privacy Policy
Seeclops (“we”, “us”) provides monitoring for satellite-connected devices. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written to apply uniformly across Seeclops Mare, Seeclops Terra, and the GMaaS platform.
Information we collect
- Account data — name, email, organisation, and role (operator, manager, or administrator) for the people you authorise to use GMaaS.
- Device telemetry — positions, status and liveness, hardware diagnostics, geofences you draw, and the detection events your Seeclops Mare and Seeclops Terra systems report over SatCom, including each contact’s class and concern level.
- Device and network identifiers — activation tokens and the modem identifier (IMEI) of the satellite subscriber that carries each system, used to bind an inbound transmission to the right device.
- Usage and billing data — message consumption per device, message-block balances and top-ups, subscription and node/system records.
- Enquiry data — if you use the “Get started” or “Talk to us” form on our website, the name, business email, phone number, company, country, and message you submit.
- Technical data — logs, IP addresses, and diagnostics needed to operate, rate-limit, and secure the service.
What we do not collect
Raw imagery and video are processed by the AI on the device itself and are not transmitted to us, not stored on the platform, and never leave your premises. What crosses the satellite link is the outcome of that processing — what was detected, when, and where — not the footage it was detected in.
How we use it
- To deliver monitoring, mapping, geofencing, alerts, and analytics.
- To meter messages, administer subscriptions and top-ups, and provide support.
- To answer enquiries you send us through the website. Enquiries are emailed to our sales inbox for a person to answer; they are not stored in the monitoring platform.
- To secure the platform, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
Anonymisation
Inside a geofence you draw, detections are shown to you precisely — classified and individually placed. Outside it, the same activity is automatically aggregated into counts and density over time, with no individual position recoverable. Where the service offers further anonymisation, personal or sensitive identifiers are removed or masked before data is processed for analytics.
Access within your organisation
Devices and their activation tokens can be delegated so that managers in the same organisation can see and operate them. Delegation never crosses organisations. You are responsible for who you authorise inside your own organisation and for the access you grant them.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers that make the service work, and only to the extent each of them needs, or where required by law. These are:
- Satellite connectivity providers — carry your devices’ messages between the field and the platform.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — run the GMaaS platform and its database.
- Email delivery — sends alerts, credit warnings, password resets, and enquiry notifications.
- Bot protection — Cloudflare Turnstile checks that our public forms are being used by a person. We deliberately do not use advertising-funded challenge or analytics services on this site.
Cookies and local storage
GMaaS stores your sign-in token in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in; clearing site data or signing out removes it. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
Retention and your rights
We keep data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal requirements. Deleting your account removes its devices, position and message history, and alert configuration. You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your data by contacting us at info@scanio.live.
Terms of Service
The service
Seeclops provides the GMaaS platform and the Seeclops Mare and Seeclops Terra systems. Hardware is bought outright; the platform, each device’s satellite connectivity, and the messages your fleet sends are charged on an annual subscription per account. Features included with a subscription are described in the Plans section of our site and may evolve over time. All figures are quote-based and agreed with you in writing.
Subscriptions, messages, and renewals
- Hardware is a one-off purchase per device, with nothing recurring on the hardware itself.
- The platform subscription is billed per account per year and scales with the size of your fleet.
- Device connectivity is billed per active device per year and keeps that device on the satellite link.
- Satellite messages are bought in blocks that land in a single pool shared by every device on the account.
- Every device on an account renews on one shared date. A device added mid-term is charged only for the days remaining until that date.
- Renewing or buying a message block extends the whole subscription by a further year from its then-current expiry, so paid-for time is not lost.
- Where you enable automatic top-ups, we may purchase a further message block on your behalf, on the terms agreed with you, before the shared pool is exhausted. You can turn this off at any time.
- If the shared pool runs out, devices stop sending until it is topped up. Usage beyond an agreed allowance may be subject to further charges.
Detections, alerts, and decisions
Detections are produced by AI models running on the device and are probabilistic: they can produce false positives and can miss events. They are intelligence to act on, not an automated sanction, and they are not a substitute for human judgement, a safety system, or the emergency services. You remain responsible for the decisions you take on the basis of what the service reports.
Acceptable use
- Use the service only for lawful monitoring of devices, systems, and locations you are authorised to operate or protect.
- You are responsible for complying with the surveillance, data-protection, and labour laws that apply where each device is installed — including any notice, signage, or consultation those laws require. Where the service processes personal data about the people it observes, you are the controller of that data and we act on your instructions.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the platform, its devices, or its satellite links.
- Keep your access credentials and device activation tokens secure. You are responsible for activity under your accounts and for devices you delegate to others in your organisation.
Availability and warranties
We work to keep the service reliable but provide it “as is”, without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Satellite connectivity depends on third-party networks outside our control, and delivery times for messages vary with satellite coverage and conditions in the field.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Seeclops is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update this policy and these terms as the service evolves. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed, and we will tell account holders about material changes before they take effect.
